''happiness Is A Direction, Not A Place''

Happiness is an emotion, that typically refers to being fortunate or contended. This is purely a matter of an individual’s nature or personality. People have subjective ideas about happiness. Some of them say they feel happy while helping others while for some happiness lies in doing something for themselves i.e. eating, painting, talking, traveling and reading, etc. Some find peace in living in their past, while some love to dream about the future. Some think wealth only can make their life worth living while others feel gratitude for precious relations and for simple things they have. According to my view, life is very difficult. It is what we think and it is what we do not think about it. Having good relations or a heap of materials around you is not a guarantee of a happy life. They can please you at certain moments. What I think about happiness is, that whenever you try to find it outside of yourself, it makes you disappointed. It lies inside you. One who expects someone or something external to give him happiness fails. One should learn to live happy with himself. He should admire and celebrate his little achievements. He should try to enjoy his own company. It does not mean that relations one has in his life are not of any value or wealth is not needed for a satisfactory living. But what I am trying to say is that these all can be just a means of a happy life, not "happiness" itself. When one dies, he should not realize that he has spent his whole life merely gathering wealth or pleasing others.
